Nigel J Hinton M.A. F.C.A FRHistS is a retired chartered   accountant with a passion for local history, he and his wife Bridget are both qualified guides in Shrewsbury and their family is based in Shropshire. Nigel is a past master of the Shrewsbury Drapers Company and a trustee of VCH Shropshire. When time allows Nigel plays golf and the saxophone, but not at the same time.

Mytton of Halston is Nigel`s latest book. His other publications include Historical Hostelries with David Trumper; Silhouette, The Story of the Little X, about Shrewsbury’s famous corset and underwear factory; Baa Baa Blodwyn illustrated by Carol Davies; The Shrewsbury Drapers’ Company 1462-2017; Shrewsbury at Work and Wool War & Wealth.

Nigel and Bridget worked as researchers on the Wroxeter Hinterland project in 1994 have researched local history for talks walks and tours for local organisations and visitors.
